Accomplishments

Water Sentinels in trainingSince it began, the Water Sentinels project in Michigan has accomplished the following:

  • The project has trained and deployed 18 water monitors on the Pine River, and is training 18 additional volunteers to monitor in animal-factory-impacted streams.

  • The Water Sentinels have focused strong statewide media attention on problems with Michigan's massive hog and chicken factories, and have provided resources to local communities to help fight these pollution problems.

  • The project is collaborating with several state colleges and universities to monitor stream pollution.
