The Responsible Trade Program traveled through the entire state of Ohio to talk about how a Smart Energy and Trade Policy are key to the state's future. Larry Fahn, immediate past President of the National Board of Directors, was the Sierra Club's spokesperson.

Indigenous Communities Gather with Sierra Club Volunteers
The Quechans of the California desert and the Mayans from Guatemala met to discuss the forces of globalization that have forced both their cultures to defend their sacred land against international mining corporation, Glamis Inc. Hosted by Quechan elder Preston Arrow-weed at his ranch on the Quechan reservation; Sierra Club members learned about unfair trade rules, solutions to these problems and joined the Quechan for a powwow and participated in Mayan ceremonies throughout the March 4 event.
Portland Sierra Club Marches for Fair Trade: The Sierra Club joined with over 50 community, labor, and environmental organizations to plan a December 10th rally to "Say No to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Yes to the Right to Organize.
