Toxic Release Data Online
Industries reported releasing 6.16 billion pounds of pollution into our environment in 2001, according the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Toxic Release Inventory.
Enforcement Compliance History Online (ECHO)
ECHO contains data on the largest facilities across the country which operate under Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act or Resource Conservation and Recovery Act permits. It contains less complete data on some smaller permitted facilities. ECHO can be used to determine compliance inspections that have been conducted by EPA or State/local governments. It also will tell you when violations were detected and what, if any, enforcement actions were taken in response to the violation of these major environmental laws. Learn about the behavior of polluting facilities in your neighborhood.
