A Special Place
Show and tell about places in nature that were, or are, important to you. Big majestic places, or everyday places.

Where: Blackbeard Island

Why: Blackbeard Island is an uninhabited island off the coast of Georgia east of Sapelo island. It has miles of pristine beaches, a beautiful "bone yard" of white bleached live oaks, and perfect quiet. I find it to be the most relaxing, peaceful place on earth. You get there by taking the ferry in Darien Georgia over to Sapelo. From Sapelo rent a sea kayak for the short paddle over to Blackbeard. It's definitely worth it.
