Lake Accotink Park

Who: Rob Blizard
Where: Lake Accotink Park, Springfield, VA

Why: This park is close to the house where I grew up and where my parents still live. I'm now 38 and still enjoy going there. When I was a child, I fed the ducks and participated in school activities at the lake. As a teenager, I used to run the 4+ miles on the trail around its perimeter. Now, I walk my two dogs there. In the middle of traffic-congested Fairfax County, it's a gem of a getaway -- quiet, wooded, virtually undeveloped.
