The Recreation Issues Committee's mission is to assist volunteers, build networks and help coordinate the Club's conservation efforts on recreation issues.
Recreation issues include but are not limited to: motorized recreation (ORVs, motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, jet-skis, etc), use conflicts, noise impacts, park overflights, bicycles, trails, appropriate and accessible recreation, resource protection from
recreation impacts (including protection of Wilderness resources), recreation fees and commercialization / privatization of
recreation on public lands.
Members of the Sierra Club's national Recreation Issues Committee are available to assist you should you and your Chapter or Group wish to pursue recreation-related advocacy, education or litigation. If you would like our support or would like to sponsor a talk and slide show on recreation issues, please contact our Staff Liaison, Athan Manuel.
