World Commission Report The Sierra Club welcomes and commends the report of the World Commission on Environment and Development as the most comprehensive worldwide effort to meet the challenges of the deteriorating effects on the Earth’s physical and cultural environment by the works of man. The Commission’s report both analyzes the challenges and offers some solutions to the severe environmental problems of the world. The Sierra Club urges the Secretary General and the General Assembly of the United Nations and the Congress of the United States to study and make policy following the manifold recommendations of this report.
