Legislative Session: 2005

This amendment, offered by Senator Byrd (D-WV) to overturn funding cuts to our nation's leading railway service, would help prevent Amtrak from having to decommission trains and fall into bankruptcy.  The amendment was offered by Senator Byrd of West Virginia to prevent service disruption and to ensure long term viability.

This amendment failed with a vote on March 16, 2005.
