The bill seeks to protect 128,400 acres of the Mount Hood National Forest as Wilderness and protect 81 miles of rivers as part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. The bill also has a number of other provisions related to an assessment for forest stewardship, a regional transportation plan and access to native foods by Tribes.
Status
This bill was introduced September 6, 2006. On Sep 27, 2006 it was sent to the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources; hearings were held.
