Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act

This bill is the companion bill to the Waxman Safe Climate Act,. Introduced in the Senate by Sen. Jeffords (I-VT), the Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act (S.3698) also requires global warming emissions to fall to 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. In addition to the provisions already set out by the Waxman bill, however, the Jeffords bill does not include a trading scheme.
Status
On Jul 20, 2006 this bill was introduced, read twice and referred to the Committee on Environment and Public Works.
